Better Patient Outcomes

Regardless of clinical laboratory quality standards, creating, implementing, and maintaining them in a systematic way is key to preventing accidents and improving accuracy of test results. Given its extensive experience, CGI has developed a system that allows laboratories of all-scales to effectively implement a quality management system (QMS) involving all relevant members to maximize its value. This system is known as LEAP.

QMS
IN THE CLINICAL LABORATORY

Implementation. Maintenance. Monitoring. Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platforms are revolutionizing Quality Management Systems (QMS). Common Sense Implementation of QMS in the Clinical Laboratory demystifies QMS and guides users on how to extract intrinsic value from the process through the use of LEAP software which engages the entire laboratory staff in a transparent and accountable way making true QMS a shared habit within the laboratory.

CGI also publishes a quarterly magazine known as In Vitro Diagnostics or IVD Global News, which provides Japanese laboratories with information on advanced laboratory medicine techniques and philosophies based on articles from CAP Today as well as commentaries from noted pathologists in Japan.

CAP (College of American Pathologists)

The College of American Pathologists (CAP) is the leading organization of board-certified pathologists that promotes excellence in the practice of pathology and laboratory medicine in over 100 countries. Over 7,600 laboratories worldwide participate in the CAP-Laboratory Accreditation Program (LAP) and over 22,000 laboratories participate in the CAP Proficiency Testing (PT) survey. CGI has an exclusive contract with CAP for the sale and support of proficiency testing programs in Japan and provides many of these programs in the Japanese language.

ISO 15189 Accreditation

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies, and ISO 15189 specifies requirements for competence and quality that are particular to laboratory medicine. ISO 15189 is now mandatory for all laboratories in Japan, and CGI can help laboratories obtain ISO 15189 accreditation through their expertise in QMS and help laboratories maintain these standards.
